Yeah I'm sitting here shaking I'm so angry about this....I just don't fucking get it!!
HOW HOW HOW can even Los Angeles County be majority in favor of banning gay marriage? Does that make any sense at all?
Some of the exit poll data is really disheartening, too---like the undeniable majority of people of color voting yes on Prop 8. Of course in the queer men's health field, conversations about homophobia within communities of color is nothing new...but it's still a bit of a blow to see it in pie chart form!!
And we wonder why queer men of color are disproportionately impacted by HIV?!?!.....a disease we know is fueled by both homophobia and racism. *sigh*

As soon as Obama was elected I immediately went online and started checking CNN for the different ballot measures and I was shockingly surprised.
I read an article a while back about how social conservatives where hoping that the surge in African-American turnout, which generally tend to be very religious, would indirectly help them in their efforts. And it seems that they were correct.
As a queer person of color I'm pissed, because yet again my two dominant halfs demographically are fighting against each other; and there is no reason for it.
